Nicholas Loren Foster, determined to do it his way, was born three months early with big brown eyes to Grace Aquino Foster and Brian Foster on October 8, 1985 in San Diego, California. He was a sweet, cuddly baby who loved to be held. His dad, Brian often talks about how he could hold Nicholas in the palm of one hand.  As a toddler he loved G.I. Joe, legos and face paint and spent hours in his beloved mud pit.

Nicholas was adored not only by his parents, but by his little sister Stephanie. Together the family spent summers on the beach, winters in the snow, and traveled across the United States on numerous road trips, surf trips through Mexico, to Central America including his family's home in Guatemala, all over Europe and Africa.

From a big family, Nicholas had four uncles, three aunts, and 15 cousins.

While at Palisades Charter High school, Nicholas loved skateboarding, surfing and tormenting authoritarian figures. He participated in California Youth and Government and was a volunteer summer camp counselor and director. He once led a group of teens on a backpacking trip along the California trail.

A creative at heart, Nick spent his teens and early twenties as an artist and received his Bachelor's degree in Fine Art from Point Loma Nazarene University. He hated it there but left an amazing painter.

After college Nick began DJing with “Ishowmyself” as “DJ PIKA”. There are no words to describe this period… but plenty of pictures. Full of spirit, an absurd sense of humor and infectious charisma he broke into the Hollywood scene and forged friendships that would last longer than most nightclubs stay in business.

Eventually Nicholas transitioned into fashion development and production, creating hand sourced and specialty-dyed one-of-a-kind garments until he found his most recent home at Gap Inc.  A beyond belief talent, Nick had the opportunity to hone in on his unique perspective on apparel, tapping into his elevated sense of style and modern tastes.

Nicholas’ sense of humor got him into a lot of trouble but it also gave him the ability to turn strangers into friends wherever he went. He believed in honor, loyalty and family.

A modern day renaissance man, in his spare time Nick dedicated himself fully to many hobbies over the years. His interests spanned (including but not limited to) fixed gear bikes, photography, painting, finger boarding, DJing, bbqing, CrossFit, intricate Japanese robot models, video games, super dirty martinis, steak houses and fine needle tattoos.

More than anything he was a devoted son, a loyal friend, a loving dog dad, a die hard romantic and a wonderful, wonderful Uncle to his three nephews- Judah, Wolf and Francis - who always brought him so much pride and joy.

His favorite movie is Good Will Hunting, he loved Los Angeles, and he probably loved you too…

We lost our dear, dear, beloved son, Stephanie’s irreplaceable brother, our Uncle Nicky, our best friend, a certified G, and a truly radiant light in this often broken world.

A ‘CELEBRATION OF LIFE’ WILL TAKE PLACE FOR ALL TO ATTEND, DETAILS TO COME.
